FAQ
My design process follows the Double Diamond framework, balancing exploration and refinement to ensure I’m solving the right problems in the right way. Ideally, it unfolds in four phases: Discovery, where I dive into user needs through research, data, and observation; Define, where I synthesise insights to frame the right problem; Develop, where I ideate, wireframe, and prototype; and Deliver, where I test, gather feedback, and refine until the experience is intuitive, effective, and delightful.
That said, real-world projects aren’t always this linear—sometimes, constraints, timelines, or business priorities mean adapting the process. Whether skipping ahead, looping back, or refining as I go, the goal remains the same: to create thoughtful, user-centred solutions that work.
I use a mix of tools depending on the project and stage of the design process. For research and discovery, I rely on Figma FigJam, Miro and Clarity to map user journeys, analyse research, and understand behaviour. Wireframing and prototyping happen primarily in Figma, with quick sketches on pen and paper or an iPad when needed. For user testing and feedback, I use Maze and analytics tools like Google Analytics, Onlooker Studio, and Tableau to validate designs. Collaboration and handoff are streamlined with Notion, Confluence, Figma Dev Mode, and Slack, while Jira keeps design and development workflows aligned. When additional assets are needed, I turn to Photoshop and Illustrator for visuals and assets.
I measure the success of my UX designs using both quantitative and qualitative metrics. On the quant side, I track engagement, conversion rates, drop-off points, A/B test results, and NPS/CSAT scores to assess usability and business impact. In my previous role, I worked with our Head of BI to build a product dashboard that tracked key product and user behaviour metrics. On the qual side, I rely on usability testing, user interviews, and feedback from customer support to understand the why behind user behaviour. Success isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about solving real problems and making experiences seamless.
